Why write it down?
Over the past few weeks one of my really good friends kept referencing to writing everything down. For the past few weeks my response would be the same, yea I know. But for some reason it was like he was speaking directly to me; all I would hear is write everything down. It was just crazy to me as I would think to myself, I know I am a writer, but still, I couldn't stop hearing it, write everything down. At this point I had enough and had to speak with him more, and after our conversation I had to humble myself. I call myself a writer but lacked the knowledge of the importance of writing. My friend had me read Habakkuk 2:2 and it discusses the Lord's response to Habakkuk, which the Lord states, "write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets". Pretty much write down your visions, and thoughts so you can see the words. Then, that led me to John 1:1&14, which the first verse is saying that In the beginning was the Word, Word was with God and Word was God. Then, in verse 14 The Word became flesh. The Words of God were the same, and so He gave life to Word and it became flesh, Jesus.
There is a reason why we hear sayings such as, your words are powerful and watch what you say it might come true. The reason we hear those sayings because there is truth to it. Words are powerful because words bring life. This is one of the main reasons you hear people say make sure you bring some paper and pen to take notes. When is the last time you have been in a classroom or seminar and the speaker doesn't reference anything to jotting down notes? The act of writing it down is important because it is bringing life to your visions and thoughts. Think about the many books and book series that have gone from words on a page to in-your-face Movies. Think of the written first draft of Apple, and now you are holding it in your hand. Write it down, bring life to your visions and thoughts.
