Simplicity…
It took falling back in love with the simple things of life to have a better view. Faith, Hope, Love…
For years I had this saying in my head, “Life is Funny”. I felt that way because no matter where I was in life I was always taken back to the simple things of life. No matter if I was in my uplifted moments or valley moments, God had some way of bringing me back to the simple things of life. When all the adrenaline settled down or my tears of sorrow finally got blocked up, I would sit and chuckle to myself. Life is funny in how I keep coming back to the simple things of life. Yes, I didn’t do as well as I wanted to do on the exam, but simply all I had to do was stick to the study schedule. Instead, I got distracted and didn’t stick to the plan. Yes, we surpassed our monthly quota again for the third month in a row. Wait, what do you mean our quota has increased. Why are they making things hard on us? Simply put, it’s time to go to that next level. In simple terms God won’t leave you the same.
Even though God won’t leave me the same I was consistently going through the same simple test over and over again. Life was simple, life is simple, life can be simple. I was simply making everything hard. But every time God would bring me back to the simple things in life. Faith, Hope, Love…I would build my faith back up, hoping to remain in His righteousness, and loving the correction, the process. This simple way of life would remain for sometimes a short while and other times longer. But the consistent part was that it only lasted for a time. Was I simply putting a timeframe on my happy simple life or was it something else? It came down to a question. Was I tired yet? Was I tired enough to the point where I was ready to simply surrender. Surrender my current life terms and return back to the simple way of life? A simple life of consistency? For that to happen I had to have a consistent mindset, a simple mindset. Faith, Hope, Love…
Keeping my faith, hoping in those things seen and those to come, and loving the process, loving others. Simply falling back in love with the simple things of life. Falling back in love with a simple mindset. Faith, Hope, Love…
“And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13)
