It’s not the dead things we consume that define us. But the Life we produce that our Elohim has already placed within us that define us.
In business life and in life we can find ourselves consuming just about any and everything in hopes of getting the upper hand and producing the results needed. We find ourselves consuming this knowledge over here, while being consumed into this conversation over there. It’s a busy consuming life I found myself in. At points I would even feel off if I wasn’t consuming this or that. I am not saying that a consumption of the right things is at any point wrong. But I found myself finally asking me the question. At what point are we going to see some production of the right results?
I’m not defined by the things I consume but by the Life Elohim provided.
At some point in my career, I was to take off the training wheels. At some point I needed to produce the right results from the consumption of training. It was easy listening to books while driving from meeting to meeting. The confidence from the consumption of the books would fill me up. It’s like a big rush of adrenaline right before kickoff. Imagine standing there with the ball in your hand ready to put together all the consumption of training by setting the right tone. You know you have the opportunity to set the tone and want to set the right tone. But lately in those moments, I am beginning to realize I can’t just rely on the consumption of my training alone. I loved the rush of adrenaline right before a big meeting as I feed off the consumption of a great book, but that love was overpowering my drive for right results. Right before kickoff, tipoff, or the touch of the gloves we are full of the things we consumed to get ready for the moment. But I am realizing that we aren’t defined by the things we have consumed. The love of the things I have consumed to get me prepared for moments alone won’t produce right results.

The big meeting we have prepared for has started and the ball is in our court. It’s not the things I have consumed that sets the tone, but my belief in my ability and the Life He already placed within me that sets the right tone for the meeting. Do I believe I belong at this table, no matter the size? Do I believe He already placed with me what is needed to be here at this moment? I was falling in love with the things that I consumed and would forget to bring myself to the table. Our Elohim has placed within us a Life that is already victorious. I’m realizing I wasn’t always bringing the Life He placed within me to the table first, but the things I consumed. I wasn’t producing the right results. There is nothing wrong with the material I am consuming, but it was out of order. I know Elohim has given us the victory. I know I need to bring the victorious Life He already placed within me to the table first. The things that we consume to get prepared for moments will begin to work when needed to produce the right results.
