Maximizing Potential…

What an amazing weekend I had and all I could/can do is thank God. Now, was every single second great no. But I mean it was hard to have a smile on my face when I had to wake up and make my oatmeal with water. I know not a big deal, but I guess in a way you could say I maximized the most potential out of watered oatmeal, aka “brown sugar and butter”. It wasn’t the best oatmeal that I have ever had in my life, but it was better than it’s expected potential.

This example I experienced allowed me to reflect on all aspects of my life, and my self-management. As in moments of reflection I had questions. Am I maximizing my thoughts on potential to see beyond what I can physically see? Am I taking every door that has been opened and completely stepping through the doors with both feet planted? Am I maximizing my thoughts on potential to see beyond what I can physically see? Am I maximizing all opportunities? Long complicated thoughts, simply put am I putting forth all of me into everything I do? I had to really sit down and just be still in the moment and have an honest moment with myself. How can I say I lack when I haven’t maximized all the opportunities before me, all the doors God has opened for me?

This wasn’t a time for me to beat up on myself and blame myself for my mistakes. Instead, this was a time to maximize this honest moment I was sharing with myself. This was a time to thank God and look at the open door(s) right in front of me and get to work. It was time to start working on maximizing all the opportunities the open door(s) in front of me offer. I had to realize that there was never any lack in my life, for the things I lacked could be gained first through understanding. If I took the time and maximized all opportunities, then who knows what other doors could be opened that I never thought of. Time to maximize all opportunities.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
