The beginning of the 4th quarter push just like any other year, but there has to be a better way. Year in and year out the same conversation with myself...Let’s Go and end the year the same as it was started. But at some point how much longer was I going to get past this part and just realize just take joy in the work that is to be done and keep doing the work. There is nothing wrong with the motivational talks, especially from mentors, and I don’t mind a good quote or two. But at some point, my internal belief, the belief deep in my heart, has to begin standing on a firmer foundation. Internally I can’t keep tearing myself apart, because I am lacking a strong foundation of faith. The goal was set in place, the goal is being lived out, and I am praying for the blessing at the End…But I should be thanking Him as I get to see and live in the process as it unfolds step by step…
October, the beginning of that 4th quarter push as sellers are ramping up that last push, that last real big grind before it all comes to a screeching halt. The beginning of this 4th quarter was a test of faith that I never experienced before but I knew at some point I will have to stand on a firmer foundation. For my team, the beginning of the 4th quarter started on a dry spell that lasted for 2wks. Those were some of the toughest 2 weeks we went through as a team, but it prepared us and is still preparing us for the next steps forward. We allowed ourselves to voice our frustrations, and it allowed us to hear all the complaints we had. We as a team asked for the work to come to us. We want to be the premier skilled nursing facility in our area, we want to provide the best care to our community, we want to set a family atmosphere, and much more. But if we have set these great expectations for our facility, we also had to realize there will be some stretching of our faith to get to the desired end.
We as a team had to realize we can’t pray for the end results, the results that bring all the benefits and blessings without dismissing every step along the way. We have to as a team adjust our foundation of faith and know and understand that the end already has happened, and we will see it. But, right now we get to enjoy every step knowing that it will lead us the right way. As the first month of the 4th quarter came to a close, we ended the month being positive. As a team we were prepared to come under our goal by 2. But we ended the month positive 1 of our target goal, which allowed us to have a positive start for the next month.
We stayed thinking the right way as a team and not allowing any negative thoughts to take any root in our thoughts. As a team we talked out the negative and talked in the positive. We couldn’t dismiss we were tired, wanted to take a break, wanted to go home, but we can’t dismiss the work. The blessing that was before us to allow our facility to turn the projected negative month into a positive a month. As we pushed through our own selfish moods we made that needed push to end the month strong. We ended positive in both real and projected growth for the month of October. We as a team stayed thinking the right way as a team and not allowing any negative thoughts to enter in and take root.
