Bringing clarity and vision to an overwhelmed mind in business and in life…

The cost is high, and I realize it’s a high cost…You say one thing but in your heart, you feel something else…

“…Elohim does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but Elohim looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7, NIV)

It’s a high-cost game to say one thing but in the heart feel the opposite. For the most part I would think this isn’t done intentional to say the right things but also feel the opposite. But when we come to our test and begin to climb yet another mountain it can take the wind out of you before you even begin to climb. Or lets just say someone, which is me, had this happen to them. The air was just knocked right out of me before I even had a time to “process” what just happened. The day with The Team started on a good note, and while I still was trying to catch my breath at the end of the day, It still ended on a good note.

As the day started our department was working smooth first starting with great communication. Everyone was focused on what we were brought on to do. All the reports were reported right when they needed to be. Follow up answers to the previous end of day report was provided right when it needed to be. Our focus was all focused on what needed to be done for each facility. We couldn’t ask for a better start of the day, which allowed us to see that We as a department were beginning to work as a team with The Team. As the day went along, we began to see our Team hit hurdle after hurdle. The Team stuck to the plan, but at times it was showing signs of my team verse your team. It was at times looking like the great divide was beginning again. Yes, it would have come at a high cost, but in those moments when the wind is knocked out of you its easy to grab at whatever provides oxygen for a chance at a breath. In other words, either We begin the blame game of my department verse your department, or We choose to work through It as The Team. As One…

It was a high cost, and it almost came to it, but it wasn’t worth it. It was easy to say We are a Team, when in my heart I felt like We were on opposite ends. But it was easier to see the high cost after I took a step back and removed me from the equation. I had to remove what I was feeling in my heart and change my character to reflect what was being said about being a part of The Team. Our department needed to understand where We are needed to do our part and provide the correct resource so that The Team can make a complete decision. Our department of admissions and marketing in a whole is the starting process to help in generating the right revenue for both facilities. In this department, which includes sales, at times we are always thinking we need to provide an answer right now or The Deal of a lifetime is gone. Let’s be honest people in sales, marketing, business development, and etc. can be dramatic and bring in these internal feelings into situations. Everything to us is a high-cost game, but at times We have to remember the cost might be too high for The Team.
