I was after the fine details in life. I got to a point where I was noticing a pattern in my writing. In moments of writing a story I lacked some of those fine details I needed to complete the story. The story that was meant to be written for right now, but right now some of the fine details of the story are missing. Was I missing them or were they missing me? To be honest that isn’t the point, because the point is that fine details were being missed to complete the story. Somewhere out there I needed to find those fine details.

Along with being an author and publisher I also work in healthcare, specifically in business development. Today at my facility we did something that was so childish and fun, show and tell. As cheesy as it sounds it was very effective as it allowed us to grow a deeper care for each other. As each person went along showing what they brought and telling their story it clicked, fine details. The fine details I was looking for were always right in front of me. Right here in my own community at my facility. Having a moment to open up to each other by revealing items that have a purpose and why allowed us to all come together as a community and share a moment. A moment that is typically shared between family members and close friends.

Our once perspective of being co-workers was being shifted to a perspective of being a community, a common unity. As we begin to want to know and learn more about each other, we in return are being open and sharing back with our community. We begin to grow and build a common unity: people with a common purpose, common values, and living in unity. As we continue on this path, we will see our community grow larger and larger. The purpose isn’t for our community just to grow in size, but most importantly in effectiveness.

The fine details I was searching for in my writings was right in front of me in my own community. I was overlooking the fine details. Living and interacting amongst my community was the answer I was searching for in my writings.

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:” (Hebrews 10:24)
