Your Gift Isn't for You...
I keep hearing this voice in my head saying over and over again your gift isn't for you. I was reminded while reading 1 Peter 4:10, "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." The gift that is in each of us should be used to serve others but not used to serve our selfish desires. In this World of glorifying the rich and famous its hard for some to truly serve others with the gift given us. We start to doubt our gift because we don't see it fitting into this glorious rich and famous life that the World has portrayed. Instead we bury our gift deep down and then chase after things that will lead to this "Rich Life". If that is being done isn't one still being selfish?
We have all been given a gift to be used to serve others, wouldn't it be selfish of us to keep that gift hidden from the World? The goal isn't to reach what the World deems as making it, but to serve others with our gifts. Yes, you can look at people that have utilized their gifts and they live a very nice life. You can't look at the surface of what they are doing you have to look deep into their actions. They didn't withhold the gift given to them as they found their gift and starting serving others. Their gift helped them to establish themselves as a person of value. The goal is not to exercise your gift to reach The World's status of the Rich and Famous. The goal is to use your gift to serve others no matter whatever it is. Don't let doubt or fear stop you from exercising your gift.
