Child like…
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter The Kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in The Kingdom of Heaven.” (Matthew 18:3-4). God came to establish a kingdom not a religion, and one thing He says is to have a mindset like a child and humble yourself. In all, you don’t know everything, so keep a right open mindset submitting to His will, because you don’t know everything. Have faith in your doing and be consistent in your work not moving ahead too fast because you don’t know everything yet. But through consistent right repetition you will gain the knowledge and understanding needed as you take the next step forward.
It all seems so simple but we make the mistake of making the process hard. We spend so much time of getting in the way we never allow any life to be birthed out of us. We all have a gift, that something we are great at, and many go to the grave with it stuck in them. We become overwhelmed with life, but in reality its a cover up. We are afraid to fail, maybe take the first step, or been there once before and got hurt, now the pain is too much to try again and hurt again. We have that something in us since a child, and the child wants to start creating. But the adult mind just won’t get out of the way. Someone stole their idea and now they see no point in creating It anymore. In reality too afraid to start because fear of competition, and failing to realize we all have our own creative thoughts and ideas.
We become know it all’s when we don’t know anything at all. We become know it all’s while someone is creating the next life saving device. How can we be experts and know it all’s when people are creating new things everyday. People are making improvements on currents ideas and thoughts everyday. Are we know it all’s? Are only some of us remaining with a child like mindset? A child’s life is simple. Maybe that is why you might hear of people referring a lot back to their childhood memories. There have been times I’ve said, “I wish I could go back to being a child again.” It is true, life was simple.
I have a daughter who is a pre-teen and she has created something and now makes custom jewelry for people (You can email me for order details). Anyways this past weekend we were driving and I asked her if she brought her supplies to fill her orders, and she simply responded with a No. Now, for me I was initially bothered and wanted to say something negative, like hey that is a lazy move when you know you have work to get done. Instead I stopped myself as I didn’t want to use a word like lazy and asked her why she left them. Her response was so simple. Well, dad my orders have to be filled by Thursday and it will get done. For me that was a great answer, she had so much faith in her abilities and she already knew what needed to get done she had no worries. Her priorities were so much in line that she wasn’t living in worry, because she already did the right things first. Now she had time to rest from hard work, because she knew she will have more work coming ahead. She was in preparation.
My daughter with a child like mindset taught me a lesson, and ever sense I started to have more of a child like mindset she teaches me more each day. A child like mindset shouldn’t be seen as a negative thing but more positive. You are making a stand saying I know I have the ability to get as far as I want to go, but I also know it is a journey and there will be lessons along the way. I need to keep my mind open and like a child so that I can learn and apply what I have learned in order to create and improve throughout my journey. There is life in all of us that wants to be unleashed. Unleash It in all its glory with the right child like mindset, always on the go ready to create.
