Built To Last…

Are we built to last? As we see the world around us change before our eyes many thoughts come to mind. Is the world built to last, and by the world I mean the people? There is this tug of war going on with people scattered on both ends and with some in between. Have we not read about changes before, do we not have recordings of changes coming upon us? Then, maybe the problem isn’t with the world but with us individually. Are you built to last?

This is no dooms day talk or anything like that. What I mean is that through the trials and test of life are you built to last. Many of our comfort zones are laid in the old ways of doing things. Some “old” ways are still relevant today and some “new” ways of doing things can be right as well. But if there was an old way and a new way was there ever an original way? You can read stories of great leaders of days past and present who have done great things in the eyes of the people that follow them. We are taught growing up the difference between wrong and right. We were shown how to act out love and kindness. We were shown how to act out sympathy and how to show empathy for someone else. All these things were shown to us in order for us to look right in the eyes of others. It is one thing to act out love and kindness and another to live in it. Maybe we weren’t shown how-to live-in love and faithfulness or maybe we were? Choices…

I have seen and read stories of leaders of our day that seemed to do right on the outside while living foul behind closed doors. Maybe the issue isn’t so much in what we do see but what we don’t see, a person’s heart/mind. I am not here to judge because in all honesty no matter whatever stories I have heard or read I still don’t know the person’s heart/mind, for that I can’t pass judgement. Looking at how things are going on with this world today maybe our hearts are being checked and revealed of it’s true character? A (wo)man’s character is something that they live by but something that is not on the top shelf of self-management.

“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.” (Proverbs 3-4). We are to bind love and faithfulness around our neck, we are to display love and faithfulness in our everyday actions. We are to bind love and faithfulness to our heart, we are to live in love and faithfulness. We are to live in love and faithfulness so that our thoughts, which guides our actions, first come from a place of love and faithfulness. So that as we go about life seeking to find the best way to serve our talents it’s coming from a right heart and mind of love and faithfulness. When we live in love and faithfulness the right way we begin to display it in everything we do. When it is done right you will when favor with God and with man, and you will withstand any test and trial. Built to last…
